IRS Reconfirms VEBA Trust Tax Exempt Status

VEBA Press Release
On August 9th, the IRS issued the VEBA Trust an updated Letter of Determination which confirms the Trust continues to operate in compliance with the provisions of Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(9). This letter was issued after IRS review of the Trust's current operations and documents. The Trust requested this updated letter from the IRS to reconfirm their tax status because the Trust has added new benefits and added the following new groups of eligible employees: community and technical college, state agency, and higher education.
